Jay laughed shortly in spite of himself, his eyes filled with a mixture of affection and sympathy. "Always with the contradictions..." he murmured, closing his icy gaze as if not to look upon her wounds and scars any longer. It wasn't that they disgusted him, or they made her less beautiful in his eyes, but staring upon her was as if looking at a beautiful but wounded bird. You want to turn away- you don't want to believe it is hurt.
"But you're right, aren't you? We'll be ok." He kissed her nose gently, pausing for a moment, whilst very near to her lips, although he couldn't force himself to go any further, and waited, only, as if for either an ok signal, or for her to draw back. Jay didn't quite know how to place the girl in his mind- he knew he loved her, but how? Was there lust to it? Perhaps he was too protective over her to feel any romantic love, and yet, you can't quite control it, can you? Stuck in a dark cave after nearly being burned to death, the vampire couldn't have imagined feeling more thankful or more in love with Karou in his life.

Karou closed her eyes, exhaling softly as they grew closer. She couldn't see it - but she could tell the distance between them was short simply by the warmth of his breath mingling with hers. Chills instinctively rose throughout her body, and she leaned closer - as close as she dared - until their foreheads were touching, though lips still lingered only centimeters apart. She was unsure of this love, whether it was real or impulsive or pity, she couldn't categorize it but she wanted it - a desire which she'd hoped they'd both share.
"Yes," she finally whispered, voice shaky as her eyelids fluttered. No light was exposed to her bright blue eyes, though the dark was equally as soothing with company such as this.

It wasn't much time to breath, as shaky as he felt, and he leaned in closer to her at that. This wasn't like his first kiss- awkward, rushed, and rather regretted; no, this was much softer, more careful, and above all, irresistibly real . Jay pulled away after a couple moments, eyeing her, but not apologizing this time, breathing out lowly, almost humorously affectionate. Although it had stopped, he was still very near to her, one of his hands reaching up to hold her others very softly- a small, soft smile on his lips. "-Karou..." he wasn't sure what he wanted to say- what was there to say? Instead, he leaned forward, and kissed her again.

This time Karou was prepared, lips matching his tentatively as they met. Despite the gentle essence of the kiss, it felt electric, though the girl maintained a surprisingly calm disposition as he pulled away, her breath's coming in staccato gasps as she breathed silently, not responding to the gentle voicing of her name.
The second time, she almost eagerly met his lips, gradually deepening the kiss as her hands softly skimmed up his chest, resting about the collar of his shirt. Lips parted slightly, she repositioned herself to a more comfortable position, an ecstatic tingling expanding within her chest.

Jay closed his eyes- his head feeling very empty, yet extremely busy at the same time. Here he was, standing next to the beautiful Karou, kissing her. Yes, Jay Evens, and her... He didn't know how to explain it, the sudden fondness he had for her in so many new ways had only grown more prominent after she had returned his love. Already the young man could feel his heart melt and his back stiffen, and hand that held her's tightening only in the most comforting of ways. He breathed, tiredly almost, once shifting his lips away, although still being close enough to feel the warmth of her skin against his, foreheads touching. "You're so beautiful." He whispered, almost breathless.

Karou leaned closed just to the point where their lips brushed in an almost playful manner. She smiled, voice only coming out as a whisper. "And you," she said, and she was quite breathless, trying to regulate her respirations as her thumb idly stroked his beautiful, chiseled collarbones, eyes dancing with excitement though concealed by the shadows.

Jay shook his head, a smile still perked on his lips from the touch, his stomach feeling very light, as if he himself were made of helium, and could float away at any moment. With her, it wouldn't do so badly. "What are the chances?" He mused, rubbing one part of her hand in his as the realization had come to his mind. What were the chances that he would meet and fall in love with this girl? If only she hadn't happened to fall into the asylum and before him (quite literally), and if he hasn't convinced her to follow him out of pure boredom, this was... She... She would only be another super, nothing more. Oh, but he loved her so much, and wanted to be close to her beyond what was possible- he needed her, she had become a part of him. His legs hurt suddenly after the run and flying emotions, almost noodle-like (although he had no desire to pull away from the girl).

Karou leaned in once more to kiss him, softly. It lingered for a moment before she pulled away, hesitating slightly as if this were a finale. Twisting her body so she could sit beside him rather than across from him, she recalled the unfortunate situations which led up to all of this - this one, giddy, undeniably happy moment produced by multiple moments of shame and disappointment.
But it was all worth it.
Jay - the vampire, the clashing race of the Supernaturals - she loved him, he was like her missing piece, the one that not another super even could fill. Jay Evans, a vampire.
Oh, the irony. This once 'cold-hearted' vampire, who'd probably planned on killing her and out of boredom travelled with her to kill another of her ex-friends - their worlds clashed, and they'd managed to make it work.

Jay smiled as she scooted in next to him, making him relax against the back of the cave, rather than leaning forward from below. He closed his eyes, very content suddenly, and despite his burns, and the large scab on the back of his head, the vampire felt physically rejuvenated, as well. Perhaps still a little hungry, but even that had faded. It just <i> didn't matter </i> . He was glad it was dark, thankful, that Karou couldn't see the blush on his cheeks, and the soft, yet stuck smile on his face.
"Where should we go after this?" he asked, opening his eyes again to better see her. Jay's irises, round and dark with the dim lighting, had already began to adjust to his surroundings.

Karou shook her head, though she was still overwhelmed by a certain, unusual giddiness. She wondered if her, as a vampire, could see the wide grin plastered across her face. Though, with a nonchalant shrug, she responded. "..I don't care."
