Elijah awoke from where he perched over some of the seats on the boat- his usually neat hair ruffled and sticky with salt water, whilst meanwhile, his tongue felt both dry and parched, a rather terrible salty taste within it. His clothing, without anything to change into or dry it with, was still damp from the ordeal, and a somewhat dark bruise lined the side of his face where Chris had hit him.
He didn't hold back, did he?
Elijah sighed out of his mouth, feeling rather empty from the fight (as one sided as it was, Elijah was no match against him). I should hit him for that. He pulled himself up sluggishly, gripping his chest for a moment as his throat scratched and hurt from it's collapse beneath bent and broken waves- concealing formerly bent and broken people. But I saved him- us. Kind of.
His light brown eyes trailed down to Chris and his blanketed shape below him on the floor of the boat, a sort of a different pang going through him.
He was all Avery had left.
The young man sighed and pulled himself back down to the seat, laying his head against it's cushions. He felt too exhausted for words or much cerebral thinking- all he wanted now was some comfort. Elijah knew he wouldn't get it, laying with cold but sticky clothing and still-red eyes, but he could hope.
In the early wakes of morning, waiting for others to awake, he could hope.

Chris had been awake for some time now- but his body was exhausted. More then exhausted, it felt wasted and cry. Shriveled up like a raisin in the sun. His eyes were plastered with salt, that clustered on his long eyelashes. His muscles to bone marrow felt dried up, and his hair stuck dryly to his sweating forehead. Or at least, what used to be sweating. His body trembled in a cold sweat all night, and now he's stopped sweating. (For those of you that don't know, you see, if you stop sweating you are in the first stages of heat exhaustion.) He wanted to get up, but the blanket that crossed around his body had dried upon his body, causing a weight over him. The sun beat down on them heavily, causing a heated pit within the boat as it swayed back and forth in the water.
He didn't know what to say to Elijah, either.
He had no excuse.
And it's even worse that, in this moment, he didn't care. Opening his eyes - which took some effort - he coughed dryly. His lungs cried for water, but the only thing there was was ocean water. That would make things worse. Shifting, he slowly pulled his head up from the white metal, and watched the spinning people around him. He couldn't apologize, or get mad, or get suicidal again. He was beyond that. He was simmering in torture.

*flies up with you* oh its nice up here o: ))

Elijah's eyes trailed against Chris's, his dried lips pursed, although he wanted to say something. Wake him up, quite possibly, from his state of dried apathy. His hand enveloped around the feather, a little torn up, but remainingly beautiful as it still was in his pocket. He took it out and twirled it around in his hand, a sort of light coming to his eyes. He didn't know how to explain it- the feeling he felt. It gave him a little bit of hope, and feeling as if all of the tears had dried out of his eyes, he sniffled once, and turned his eyes up to the sky, hot and real, despite his swimming mind. I won't give up on you yet. He didn't know what he meant by the silent promise, but it was there now, and it strengthened him in a way.
In the distance, dark clouds had gathered in the direction England would be in- a sort of flutter in his chest now. He glanced back at Chris, biting his lip at his hot(NOT LIKE THAT) and dried sort of state.  The parchedness would kill them all, starting with their glue -their leader-. He had to act fast. "Chris, get up." his voice was steely and cold, and Elijah stood upon speaking it, walking towards where their bags were in a corner. His inflection was croaky, but a little stronger upon taking the role, and he turned back to his leader defiantly, holding one bag up. "We did pack fresh water-" he cleared his throat, grimacing a bit. "-Didn't we?"

Okay then we did, for the sake of Chris' sanity and everyone elses. } I think Elijah might end up becoming the leader eheh my poor chrissy has been losing it. }

Christopher glanced up at the sun, white and blinding. Closing his eyes again, he slowly sat up, taking the blanket off of him. It made a slight ripping sound as it was pulled from his skin, but it didn't hurt him. After a few moments, he heard Elijah's stern voice. He heard the sharp coldness, and for some reason this was the only thing Chris would respond to. He stumbled up, rocking the boat momentarily. His stomach churned at the action, and hopefully he wouldn't get seasick. But the voice of Elijah - whether he be spinning or not- caused him to glance over and nod. They had to have packed water. This thought was what he focused on, and he turned to look for some.
Opening a few boxes, he stuffed himself with dried fruits, and didn't care that he couldn't taste it. Then, he finally found it. Water. He tried to yell out, but it came out as a low rumble. Opening the bottle, he chugged the entire thing in a matter of seconds.
His face grew impeccably softer, his face looking happier, and he then let out a gasp of enjoyment. He threw Elijah and the others some water, as well. (wheres caro?) He seemed to be beaming now, his throat and stomach greeting the cool moisture that crawled in his throat. But he still hadn't apologized to Elijah - he thought it needed a more private talk. They would talk it out later. Hopefully.

a private talk with roses and a bed involved )) Awh, the only problem with Elijah as leader is that he hates everybody xD )) i won't even lie, i totally want elijah to turn into a tiger so we can have a life of pie oops pi not pie moment eheh ))

Elijah caught the bottle, and breathed out a thankfulness that his idea had worked as planned. It wasn't incredibly cold- but with a luckiness, it wasn't hot, either. From the chilled air last night, it's contents had survived from being completely boiled in the sun underneath other boxes and things. He held it in his hands for a moment, the growing headache that pounded against his skull from dehydration loosening as he opened the cap, and poured enough into his dry and sticky mouth. It was cool, as even his insides felt sun burnt, and the young man fell against the back seat and ran his tongue against his lips, the moisture seeming to be enough for him then. He drank more, but not as greedily, and set down the half-full bottle to save for later. Blinking his dry eyes, he stood again, and swayed a little from where he was, glancing back at the people in the ship. Chris, Karou, Caroline, Fredrick, and himself. Their numbers had collapsed by the dozens, and it wasn't impossible that upon reaching the safety of England they would disband into different lives- but they had to reach it there at least.
Turning his eyes to the sky, and shielding them from the hot sun, he narrowed his light optics into the distance, trying to spot some land. Dark, somewhat ominous clouds continued to stretch towards them from the corners of their viewpoints, but even so, there was a chance they could escape the turmoil if England was near enough. A cool, salt-tasting breeze ran through his hair as he held onto the side of the boat, staring into the horizon hopefully before glancing back at the others, his eyes uncharacteristically round with broken hope and wonder.

Now fully operating the boat, Chris watched the rocky horizon grow closer and closer. His mind was elsewhere, however. He needed to shape up. He needed to stop doing thee things that cause them more trouble. Chris has decided that, from here on out, he will stop being so self-destructive. He will think of only what the next plan is, what's best for his family, and try to be the boy he used to be. Who he wants to be now.
As the minutes ticked on, he saw the cliff that had rocks scattered around it. There wasn't a place to pull in. Turning the wheel left, he looked around for a place to pull in. Arching his way around, he saw a dockside a few miles west. He continued in the direction, looking back over at the others and giving them a reassuring smile. He would need to settle his guilt on his own, and stop scaring who's left. Whos left... dear Lord. He looked down at the crashing waters as he tried to forget that thought.
Pulling in a few minutes later on the dock, he turned off the engine and looked back towards the others. Coughing a bit before he started, he looked up at the dark sky overhead. "Guys... we're finally safe. Everything we've been through, we understand that the period of time is over. We can have an actual life here." He smiled a bit melancholy, and continued. "Let's live a life that our friends would be proud of."

Elijah stared at him for a couple moments, a little surprised at his sudden regain of his role again- he felt his core grow a little less cold with grief, and nodded in agreement, picking up the bag Harley had held originally, although more ignorantly at it's significance. "We can stay with my family for a little while- we should be able to rest there." he nodded again, as if confirming the idea, and walked past Chris, handing him one of the bags.
"Thanks." he mumbled the words almost inaudibly, and gave his leader a bitter sweet look. They were out, finally, away from the turmoil and into the next chapter of their lives- just... Without a couple, much loved people. He climbed out of the boat first, seemingly eager to leave it, and stood up on the dock, breathing in the scent of damp air as a couple of England's consistent raindrops fell upon the earth.
"I almost forgot how much I hate this place." he grumbled, back to being spiteful Elijah. Not dreamily happy with Harley- nor depressed and silent; just spiteful. His default personality.

where were you missy xD I was in a pewdiepie marathon. } and okay xD haha cool c: }

Chris soon jumped off after them, knotting the boat to the pole on the dock. Seagulls rang in his ears, but now that he's quenched and ate, he's seemingly very much back to his usual self. But that doesn't mean he doesn't miss anyone. He felt the tension between himself and Elijah, and he hoped he could talk to him soon about it. He didn't want to lose him. As a friend, or in death. Chris wouldn't be able to bear that. Grabbing the bag, he flung it over his shoulder and tipped some more dried apples into his mouth. Following Elijah, he looked around the dock, watching the people in trenchcoats and hats. They all dressed as if they were headed somewhere special. Now, he was the one who felt a bit left out. Elijah was usually the silly-looking one in his attire, but Chris' ripped shirt and slacks seemed far too American for the state of this culture.
Catching up to Elijah, Chris tried to make some casual talk with him. "So how'd you end up in America?" He asked, putting his hands behind his head as he walked. He tried to seem casual, even after everything that happened. He forced himself to ignore the bruise on Elijah's jaw.

Well, I just took a bath... xD )) Also, what's her outfit? c: If you have a picture that would be great~ ))

Elijah raised his eyebrows, a little surprised at the question. He hadn't seemed to notice the other's oddity and culture-shock upon reaching his hometown in blackpool. "To get away, mostly." he looked a little cold suddenly, as if like the chilled, damp air, he suddenly molded in with it quite well. "I was planning to take my leave to have a change of scenery- but I got a scholarship to Auburn University for journalism, and that sped things up." his eyes turned down to the ground, and he frowned, as if seeing something Chris couldn't in memories. "...Of course, the world was a lot different then." he glanced up again, and smirked in a very dry manner. "What? Feeling out of place?" so he had noticed after all. "Good riddance." The tension was there again, causing the shapeshifter to grit his teeth together for a moment, eyes constantly wandering around the area to make sure they were going the right way. It would be a while since his last trip home, although he doubted his family had moved yet. To say the least, their house was rather huge. Located just out of the city limits in a nice, lush area- his family lived there for quite a while, all being sons of bankers and later, bankers themselves. They had money by the dozen in a millisecond's worth of time, but to even it out, there were quite a bit of them packed into one space.
Snapping away from his thoughts, Elijah glanced up at Chris again, making a tch sound upon feeling his gaze brush over the ugly bruise on his jaw for a moment. "Its fine, bloody idiot."

Um idk D: )

Caroline followed the two closely behind. She didn't know who they were but she had a feeling she should follow them. "Um excuse me, where are we?" Heck, she didn't even know who she was but it was a start. Her head hurt but she ignored it. She could only remember being very sad, yet she didn't know why. And was she a vampire? She had fangs for sure. She felt them lightly with her tongue.

OK i have an idea for the grandest intro ever omg ))

"You're in beautiful, wild Blackpool, my dear!" A head suddenly lifted itself between her and Fredrick, spinning the girl around with a devil-may-care politician smile. There was hardly any real time to see his face as suddenly in place of it was a camera, which with tan olive-toned skin, he clicked at her for just a second, an abrupt flash going off much like the old cameras from the 40s. He grinned, and pulled away. The young man fit right in with society around him- wearing a navy blue and brown cardigan with a yellow button-up shirt underneath and pants that had to be some sort of medium slate gray. He had a dark yellow-and-gray caddy hat, almost similar to the one Elijah wore on occasions. Most strikingly about him were his eyes, though. With pupils thinned down to a small size, they looked almost cat-like, the same size nearly, too.
He grinned, words coming out of his mouth quick and then smooth again- an Wales accent tinting at his voice. "So! You can purchase maps for only 54 dollars now- a great price, if you ask me!"
Fredrick sighed, trying to push him away, in which he only pushed him into Caroline unknowingly. "We're not interested." he muttered, raising an eyebrow. "And Caroline, you know where we are.."
"Or how can you be sure, without this map?" The sales person chimed in.
